Meet Becerra

J Christian Becerra is running for 434th District Couty Judge

ABOUT ME

I am J. Christian Becerra, born and raised in Fort Bend County, the son of Mexican immigrants. Born to a family long dedicated to serving the community, the idea of public service has always been deeply rooted within me. This principle is what led me to a career in law, dedicated to serving and protecting the rights of the citizens of Fort Bend County.

A proud graduate of B.F. Terry High School in Rosenberg and The University of Texas at Austin, I earned my J.D. from Thurgood Marshall School of Law. In 1998 I was sworn in as a Fort Bend County Assistant District Attorney. Then in 2002, I became one of the founding partners at the Becerra, Colgin, & Perwin Law Firm (now Becerra & Colgin) in Rosenberg, where I practice criminal defense, family law, and civil law. Today, I remain extremely active fighting for justice and liberty at the Fort Bend County Courthouse. Outside of my work, I am a loving husband to Lacy Labay Becerra and a proud father to three beautiful girls: my step-daughter Cierra Ashley, and Elizabeth and Gabriella Becerra.

Having grown up in a family with a legacy of public service, and having experienced the life-changing decisions that happen day-to-day in the Fort Bend County Courthouse, I have become inspired to give
back to my community and make a difference for the better. Now more than ever, we need new and innovative leadership in the courthouse. We need leaders who advocate for equal and compassionate justice for all, and are devoted to protecting, serving and defending Fort Bend County. This is why I am running as a Democratic candidate for the Fort Bend County 434th District Court Judge.

I have dedicated my entire career to serving others through the law. Now, I hope to continue this mission as your 434th District Court Judge. I hope to earn your support come November 3rd, 2020.
